A little bibbity Bobbity boo..

"If there is a question attached to the soul of a woman, maybe its Do you think I am beautiful?"

Be prepared.... remembering can be delightful but then sometimes remembering can be painful. You should pray right now and ask God to give your memories clarity and purpose? And while your praying would you also ask for the courage to be truthful? sometimes the most powerful insights come because we have finally let the truth out of its hiding place.

ok you know the whole Cinderella story front to back. you love the part where the glass slipper fits, just like I do. now let yourself become one of the characters. which one do you allow yourself to become and why?

most of us learn the hard way.... Cinderella is always someone else. somewhere along the way, we decided to come to terms with the fact that we were muddling through our lives unseen, unknown, and unheard. We learned to stand around the edge of the room in our best ball gown and just groove. Smiling and pretending.

But some of you have had "Cinderella Moments" when you felt noticed and called out. was it prom night? or some other special occasion? Try and remember as many Cinderella Moments as you can.

Maybe there were a few Cinderella Moments fro you, but it never quite all worked out. Maybe you danced but no one ever came looking for you later. Maybe the glass slipper fit, but the happily ever didn't come after. maybe you learned to pretend that it didn't matter. but do you remember that you were made feminine, wired with the desire to be seen and known and loved deeply? its ok to want what you were made for. Its ok for you to desire to be known as beautiful. its ok to want to be Cinderella.

    Dancing...

I dont read alot of books. I like to read. But for me to take a afternoon and read isnt something that I would do. I could think of a million other things to do than read. But every once in a while there is a book that comes along and I just fall for it.

In 2006 I was introduced to this book. I read it in one weekend. Loved it so much I had to go buy the bible study book. Then one day not long ago I was thinking about this book and knew I had to pick it back up again. The first time I read it I was at a different place in my life. I was a university student trying to find my way. Now I am engaged, planning a future with someone, I am a step mom, and I have a wonderful job. Life is much different so I thought I would pick it back up and to be honest Its really touched me differently. Ok I will stop talking and introduce the book.

The book is called "Do you think I am beautiful?" its written by Angela Thomas. I am working on the bible study that goes with this book and I ask you to follow along with me. Let me know how it touches you as it has touched me.

The book starts off by asking you to imagine that you are at a dance. Most of us ( I was one and I still am) a wallflower. We stand on the side just waiting for someone to ask us to dance. Kinda like we are at a ball.... the one in the Cinderella story.... we all want the prince to ask us to dance. Well... the prince isn't asking us to dance... but the King is. Man that sounds really bad. But God, thinks that we are the most beautiful woman in the room. He is asking you to dance. Yes, I know its really scary. You are probably thinking God wants me to dance. But He does. But you see, not only does God want us to dance with Him. He wants to lead. We just have to follow Him.

You may be asking but what if I do not know how to dance? Well trust Him. Trust Him to lead the dance. Trust in Him that you will know the dance. Look into His eyes..... and just keep your eyes on him.... and He will show you to dance!
But you see sometimes we take our eyes off of Him, sometimes we want to dance with others, Sometimes we do not like the song, and sometimes we can't hear him asking us to dance.

I hope over the coming blogs that I can look at these topics. If you are reading this...that means something or someone has made you come here and you are thinking well I was just looking at Paige's Blog and thought I would check it out. But you are here and there is a reason why you are here. God is asking you to dance.... what are you going to say??

    Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Jon and I were at Pizza Delight one day and they had Pulled Pork Pizza. He mentioned that Pulled Pork was his favorite. So I started making Pulled Pork sandwiches and now when pork is on sale it has become a staple in our home. They are very easy....

    you will need:
4 lbs boneless pork shoulder or pork loin
    1/4 tsp  ground black pepper
    1/4 tsp salt
    2 c. water
2 c. barbecue sauce (your favorite)
    1 tblsp of brown sugar
    Buns

    1. Rinse the pork shoulder and pat dry. Rub salt and pepper over the pork and place in a crock-pot
    2. Poor BBQ sauce and brown sugar on top. Cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours, until the pork is very tender.
    3. Remove the pork from the crock-pot and discard the remaining liquid. Shred the pork using a couple of forks.
    4. Place the meat back in the crock-pot. Once shredded I like to add more bbq sauce.  continue to cook for another 20-30 minutes until the pork is hot again. Serve on buns with extra barbecue sauce.

    finshed tp pots

    Supplies:
    • toilet paper tubes
    • scissors
    Steps:
    1. Cut the TP tube in half. Then make 4 cuts that are approx. 1/2 in., creating 4 flaps of equal size.
    2. Fold one flap inward, then working clockwise, fold the other flaps down. Tuck the corner of the last flap under the corner of the first flap. (Like when you are closing a cardboard box.)
    3. Turn them over and gently press them down on a flat surface so make the bottoms flat, so that they will stay upright.
    4. Turn them over, fill with soil, and plant your seeds. Once the seeds have sprouted and are ready to go into the ground, just plant them with the pot. The cardboard will disintegrate in the soil

    lemons?

Skip the bleach—add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of lemon juice to the wash cycle to brighter up those fading whites.

This natural bleaching agent can effectively whiten clothes. To use lemon juice, take a gallon of water that is as hot as you can get it and add 1/2 cup of lemon juice. Soak your whites for at least 30 minutes, or overnight. You can use this bleaching agent on cotton and polyester, but avoid using it on silk. It works wonderfully on white socks and underwear

    Make your own wipes

Ok so I love wipes. Especially when cleaning the bathroom. They get expensive but this is a really cool idea that I will definitly have to try. If you try it at home please let me know!

    http://blogs.cincysavers.com/diy-tuesday-make-your-own-disinfecting-wipes-more/

    Supplies Needed:
    • Pine Sol or Vinegar (Recipes are at the bottom of this post for various types of cleaners you can create)
    • Sturdy paper towels (I choose Bounty)
    • Water
    • Glad or Ziplock Container that is large enough to fit part of a paper towel roll in ( I found the Glad Designer Bowl at Target–Two for $2.99)
    • Serrated Knife
    • Something to cut a 1/2″ hole through plastic (I used a 1/2 inch drill bit- that worked well)
    • Measuring cups
    • Bowl

    1. Cut your paper towel role length wise so it will fit nicely in the plastic container you’ve selected. I used a large serrated knife and it cut through the paper towels just fine!
    2. Next you will need to cut a hole in the top of the plastic lid so you can easily pull the paper towels or should I say, disinfecting wipes, out. I asked my husband for a 1/2″ drill bit and used that. But because the plastic you are cutting through is so thin, I think a knife or even sharp scissors will work just as well. Just be careful and use a cutting board.
    3. Mix your desired solution.
Here are several recipes you can use:
Disinfectant Cleaning Recipe (this is the one I used):
    • 1/4 – 1/2 cup of pine cleaning solution such as Pine Sol
    • 2 1/2 – 2 3/4 cup of water
    General Cleaning Surface Recipe:
    • 1 1/2 cups white vinegar
    • 1 1/2 cups water
    • Optional: A few drops of favorite scented essential oil to cut the vinegar smell
    Window Glass Cleaning Recipe:
    • 1/2 cup of rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol
    • 2 1/2 cups water
    • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
    4. Once you have your solution mixed and your paper towel roll set in the plastic container, pour the solution over the paper towels. Put the lid back on the plastic container and allow them to sit overnight.

    5. Once the towels have sat overnight, then the cardboard tube in the center of the paper towel roll should easily come out (See the bottom right photo above).

    6. Carefully pull the end of the paper towels from the inside, where the cardboard roll had been. Thread the end of the towels through the hole in the lid, and replace the lid.
TA DA! You know have your own household cleaning wipes. As I mentioned early, I was skeptical of this project and didn’t know if was worth the time it took to cut and drill but it really is simple to do and you can reuse the container over and over again.
