Classic Grill Burgers

  • You will need:
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons seasoned salt
  • 2 tablespoons A-1 sauce
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup room temperature water
How to:
  1. In a medium bowl, mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Form the beef into patties about 1/2-inch thick and about 1/4-inch larger in diameter than the buns you’ll be using. Refrigerate the patties until ready to grill.
  2. Cook the burgers on a preheated grill over medium-high heat until the burgers are cooked to your liking (I like mine with the barest hint of pink in the center and usually grill for about 6 minutes per side). The last two minutes of grilling, butter the inside of the bun and slap it on the grill to toast while the burgers finish cooking.

Goey Ritz Peanut Butter Smore Bars

1 box yellow cake mix
2 sleeves Ritz crackers
1 egg
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 (7 oz) jar marshmallow creme
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 (8 ounce) bags mini Reese’s peanut butter cups

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9×13 inch baking dish with foil and spray with cooking spray. Beat cake mix, butter, and egg into a firm dough, then press into the bottom of prepared pan. Top with a layer of Ritz crackers.
2. Mix together marshmallow creme and sweetened condensed milk until fully combined, and pour evenly over the crackers. Top with mini peanut butter cups and one sleeve crushed Ritz crackers.
3. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes. Allow to cool completely in pan before cutting and serving. Bars will be very gooey when warm, but will set up once cooled.

Grilled Foil packed fries

1
bag (14 oz)  crinkle-cut French fries
1
tablespoon butter, melted
2 cups shredded cheese
2
tablespoons sliced green onions (2 medium)
2
tablespoons cooked bacon bits

  • Heat gas or charcoal grill to medium-high heat. Toss frozen French fries with melted butter.

  • Tear off 2 (12-inch) lengths heavy-duty foil to make foil boats. Place half of the fries in a single layer in the center of 1 piece of foil. Loosely fold foil around edges to form a boat, leaving large hole at top to allow steam to escape; repeat with remaining fries and foil.

  • Place foil packets on grill over indirect heat. Cover grill; cook 20 to 30 minutes, stirring once, until fries are crispy and baked through. Top each packet with 1 cup shredded cheese; cook about 2 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with sliced green onions and bacon bits just before serving.

Marley and Daisy ~ update

Hey All,
Many of you have been messaging me asking me about how Marley and Daisy are doing. So I thought I would write a blog post about how they are doing...

Marley has arrived at her new foster home. She is being spoiled rotten. They have recently got her fixed. And she is recovering very well. They say that will help her and she wont have so many hormones running through her. She has been doing alot of training and learning lots and will be up for adoption soon. Her foster home has been hit by Tropical Storm Arthur but just alot of trees and things like that. Nothing too bad. We miss her so much. When I read about how well she is doing my heart breaks that shes not here with us. We love her and we know that she is the best of hands. She will always be remembered and be a special part of our family. The boys talk about her often and we find ourselves calling Daisy.. Marley...

The photo is a photo I received from her foster family. I receive lots from them on how she is doing. We miss her but by the look on her face shes very happy!

Now on to Miss Daisy. She is one of kind.

Don't let her cute looks fool you. She is slowly learning how to use the bathroom outside. She loves to eat peoples toes. She is doing much better with her kennel. However if you go by my house and hear a dog crying like shes being beaten... its not us its just Daisy in her kennel! When I come home from work she is so excited to see me. She is always so excited to see her brothers and loves to play with them outside.
They are so in love with her. I catch Zach talking to her every once in a while saying "Daisy I love you soo much" or "Daisy you are so special to me". Her daddy is also in love with her too. You will catch them from time to time sleeping together on the couch. Oh and the cuddles she loves to cuddle... and eat your toes (did I mention that already lol) We have been staying at moms due to not having power and Grammy Mary Ellen has become quite fond of her. She spoils her just a little! We can not believe how much she is like her mommy!

Everyone is doing great... I cannot thank you again for all those who have helped us find a home for Marley. Thank you to everyone who has emailed and called about her.
