Its graduation week here on the river... and everyone is looking for a super easy dessert. you have probably seen this on facebook. My mom made this for something and it was a little piece of heaven!! I was craving it and had to make it!
6 tbsp melted butter
1 8-oz pkg cream cheese (softened)
1/4 C granulated sugar
2 tbsp cold milk
12-oz tub Cool Whip, divided
2 x 3.9-0z packages of chocolate instant pudding (OR… 8 chocolate pudding cups)
3-1/4 cup cold milk (if using the instant pudding mixes)
1-1/2 cup chocolate chip minis (I used skor bars.. just to add something different)
Directions:
- If using whole Oreos, crush the cookies in a food processor until you’ve got fine crumbs. I used my magic bullet or you can use a Ziploc bag and a rolling pin
- Transfer crumbs to a bowl and stir in melted butter.
- Press the mixture into bottom of a 9×13″ baking dish and place in fridge
- Mix the cream cheese with a mixer until light and fluffy; add milk and sugar, and mix well.
- Stir 1-1/4 cup Cool Whip into the cream cheese mixture.
- Spread onto the cooled crumb layer.
- OR… if using the instant pudding packages, combine with 3-1/4 C milk and whisk it until it thickens.Spread this mixture over top of the cream cheese layer, and let it set in the fridge for 5 minutes to allow the pudding to thicken.
- OR… just spread the pudding cups on the cream cheese layer, and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Spread the remaining Cool Whip on the pudding layer, and sprinkle with mini chocolate chips.
- Let it then sit in the fridge for 4 hours or in the freezer for 1 hour
