1 bag dry coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)
2 tbsp garlic
1/2 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

** I felt like we needed something else in our bowl. So I cooked some whole wheat rice and added it to it**

Directions:
  • In a large, deep skillet, brown ground meat. Meanwhile in a small bowl, combine garlic, soy sauce, and ginger; set aside.
  • Once meat is cooked through, add dry coleslaw mix to skillet and stir to combine.
  • Pour soy sauce mixture into the skillet and stir, continuing to cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until cabbage is wilted, but still a bit crunchy.
  • Then this is where I added the cooked rice and mixed it together

    Trisha Yearwoods Angel Biscuits

I watch Trisha Yearwood show the other day on the Cooking Channel. These biscuits looked so good that even my hubby said you gotta make these!! Today was a snowday and I thought it was a good day to make biscuits! They turned out so good and so flakey! Also make them in a cast iron pan. They cook much better.

    You will need:
    5 cups all purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp baking soda
    1 tsp salt
    5 tbsp sugar
    1/2 cup warm water
    3 tbsp active dry yeast
    1 cup butter melted
    2 cups buttermilk

    Directions:

    Preheat oven at 425 Degrees
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and 3 tablespoons of the sugar.
In a small bowl, combine the warm water with the yeast and the remaining 2 tablespoons sugar; stir until the yeast is dissolved. Let stand until bubbles appear, 2 to 3 minutes.
Make a well in the center and add the buttermilk and the yeast mixture. Then add melted butter. Gently fold the flour into the wet ingredients. Keep mixing until a ball starts to form, then gently knead, 12 to 15 times, to create a smooth dough. Cover with a cloth or plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for approximately 1 hour.
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface and press out to 1- to 1 1/2-inches thick. Fold the dough in half, press again to 1- to 1 1/2-inches thick, and then fold again. Cut the dough using a 2- to 3-inch round biscuit cutter, depending personal preference. Brush the bottom of a cast-iron skillet with some of the melted butter. Place the biscuits in the skillet; brush the tops with melted butter.
Bake until golden brown, 18 to 22 minutes, depending on size. Brush again with melted butter and serve immediately.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Cheesecake Cookie Squares

I would say about a month a go I seen this recipe on Trisha Yearwoods cooking show. I have been thinking about for a bit to make it. And today seemed like the perfect day. They looked so good. I just had to. Yes they are as good as the look! The only thing I would change is the recipe I had called for a 9x9 pan thats what I used. But it make them so thick. Next time I will use a 9x14 pan or whatever the size it is lol

    You will need:
    For the Crust:
    • 2 cup Flour
    • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
    • 1/2 tsp Salt
    • 2/3 cup softened Butter
    • 1/2 cup Sugar
    • 2/3 cup Brown Sugar
    • 1 Egg
    • 2 tsp Vanilla
    • 2 cup Chocolate Chips
    For the Filling:
    • 8 oz softened Cream Cheese
    • 1/2 cup Sugar
    • 1 Egg
    • 1 tsp Vanilla

    Directions:

    1. Preheat oven to 350. Line a 9×9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil and spray with nonstick spray.
    2. Whisk together flour, baking soda and salt for crust. Cream together butter, brown sugar and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and whip to incorporate. Add flour mixture and mix until incorporated.
    3. Fold in chocolate chips.
    4. Press 2/3 of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form an even layer. Combine filling ingredients and beat until blended.
    5. Spread filling over the cookie dough layer and level. Crumble remaining crust dough over the filling layer.
    6. Bake for 40 minutes, or until cheesecake is set and cookie dough has browned. Allow to cool completely and chill before slicing.
